There is scientific consensus that the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) offer many health benefits. These long-chain fatty acids are normally obtained from fish. In order to protect fish stocks and avoid the harmful substances in fish, many people are looking for alternatives. This search has now come to an end: after years of research, a very high-quality, vegan algae oil could be successfully extracted from the algae species Schizochytrium sp. The very complex, environmentally friendly production and extraction processes from these algae strains ensure a high-dose top quality. This algae oil is characterised by a particularly high content of the most valuable, long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA & DHA. The contamination with pollutants from the environment is also almost completely reduced thanks to sustainable cultivation in closed systems, resulting in an impressive TOTOX value of less than 1. The vegan softgel capsules are easy to swallow, even for children and the elderly, thanks to their small size and soft surface structure.

Important notice: Currently, more and more algae oils are being offered and advertised that are produced from algae strains that are not authorised for human consumption. However, the only algae strain authorised for this purpose is Schizochytrium sp. By choosing Omega-3 Vegan, you are making a valuable contribution to the conservation of global fish stocks, some of which are under threat.

The European Food Safety Authority (EfSA) assesses the intake of omega-3 fatty acids according to scientific findings as follows:

DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.
DHA contributes to the maintenance.of normal vision.
EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function.
DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels (with daily intake of at least 2g DHA + EPA)*.
DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure (with daily intake of at least 3g DHA + EPA)*.

*) the daily dosage of EPA and DHA together should not exceed 5g according to the recommendations of the EfSA!

Taking Omega-3 oils during pregnancy:

The "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung" (= German Asscociation of Nutrition) recommends the consumption of Omega-3 oils during pregnancy and breastfeeding period. According to scientific findings, the daily intake of at least 200mg DHA by the mother contributes:

to a normal brain development in the foetus and breastfed infant.
to a normal eye development in the foetus and breastfed infant.
to a normal eyesight development in infants up to 12 months (in this case, 100 mg DHA daily is sufficient).

Recommended Use:

Adults take 2-3 capsules daily with plenty of water at mealtimes, or as recommended by your health practicioner.
With a daily intake of 3 capsules, one pack lasts for 120 days..
The intake is recommended for all age groups, children under the age of 3 take 1-2 capsules daily, during pregnancy the daily requirement is 4-5 capsules.
